Besides developing drone hardware, IoT solutions and add-ons for drones, and other IoT hardware, I got to use a lot of data-driven machine learning approaches for automation and decision making.
My thesis looked into various aspects of enabling a fully autonomous and decentralized drone swarm capable of self-contained data processing and decision-making within the swarm itself, with no connection to any ground-based infrastructure whatsoever.
Holistically, I design and implement solutions for data collection and their communication under industrial settings for enabling Industrial IoT and Industry 4.0 architectures for SMEs. My main work areas deal with designing architectures, strategies, and solutions that look into COTS sensor-based data collection from industrial equipment. I currently work as a Research Associate at DIAL at the IfM, University of Cambridge, U.K.
